Design Technology Technician (Part Time - Term Time Only) £15,592-15,904 (pro rata)

Hours: Part time - 37 hours/wk

Main Duties:
  • To provide technical support to the Design and Technology faculty in preparing and machining materials, maintenance of machines and general workshop duties
  • To be responsible for control and storage of all chemicals, flammables and specialised solutions, ensuring that COSHH and Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
  • To assist with maintaining and ordering stock, and assist with managing the department budget
Person Specification:
  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent level) including English and maths at Grades A*-C
  • Relevant experience and qualifications allowing the use of common workshop machinery, including band saw, wood lathe, planer/thicknesser, circular saw
  • Able to independently use and maintain common workshop machinery, as described above
  • Confident working in a classroom/workshop environment
