The bonding together of two pieces of metal, the joint being created by a layer of molten alloy, the flow of which is assisted by a flux. Brazing utilises a filler alloy having copper as the major constituent and is a higher-temperature process than silver soldering, where the filler alloy contains a high proportion of silver.
