Design Technology Technician (Part Time - Term Time Only) £7,400-15,500
King's School, Bruton, Somerset

Hours: Part time - 26.5 hours/wk

Main Duties:
  • To work independently or co-operatively with Departmental colleagues to promote the highest potential level of attainment for students.
  • To prepare and maintain classrooms and workshops (including computer equipment and materials) for use by staff and pupils.
  • To be committed to the process of continuous professional development, through participation in training and development courses
  • To contribute to teaching sessions as appropriate, by demonstrating / supervising / advising on the proper and safe use of tools, equipment, and materials for practical activities.
  • To perform as required the necessary checks, cleaning, maintenance, and repair (or to make arrangements to have maintained or repaired by approved external contractors)
  • To arrange and manage, as required, scheduled servicing at suitable intervals with all Service and Maintenance records kept up to date.
  • To be responsible for the safe storage of all resources, including equipment and materials, and the disposal of waste products in accordance with the relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • To maintain appropriate records for the control and allocation of all resources, including relevant equipment and materials.
  • To promote and enriching the pupil’s experience within the Design & Technology Department, both within lesson
Person Specification:
  • The hours are between 19 and 26.5 hours per week during the School's term time (34 weeks)
  • Salary is dependent upon experience
  • Relevant experience is required for this post
